The America's Best Value Inn Lake George is located right on the main street of the village. 
For a motel, the premises are very nice and well maintained. 

There is an outdoor/indoor pool in the backyard and plenty of fun attractions for kids (slides, balancoires, basketball, etc.).
While I haven't been there myself, the reviews on major sites are great and most of the guests seems very satisfied with their stay.
