The thing I love about Lake George is that there is an attraction for everyone. Whether you want to take a few days off as a couple or a full two weeks of family vacations, you will always find something fun to do.
With amusement parks, mini-golf courses, water parks, shopping outlets and much more, there's an attraction around Lake George for everyone and you'll need a few visits to see them all.
Main Lake George Attractions
Lake George Cruises
Five ships cruises Lake George and you can find a departure at almost any time of the day during high-season. You can spend from 1 hour to a full day enjoying the lake for very reasonable prices.
Many different types of cruises are available. From the one-hour trip to a complete tour of Lake George or the dinner cruise, you'll likely find one that fits in your schedule and budget.
Amusement Parks & Theme Parks
With a large Six Flags that has tens of family, kids and adrenaline-pumping rides, Lake George is already well served in terms of theme parks.
But you'll also find two other theme parks that features fun rides for kids. Magic Castle is near the village and for younger ones. The Fun Spot is about 15 minutes from Lake George and has tons of activities for older kids.
Lake George Water Parks
Not only is the Splashwater Kingdom huge, you'll find two more water parks near the village. There's even an indoor one for rainy days!
And also remember that the lake is probably the biggest water playground you can find!
Lake George Mini-Golf
There are five mini-golf courses in Lake George, all located within minutes of the village. Mini-golf is a classic family activity and in Lake George you'll mostly find fun, thematic 18 holes.
One of my favorite is located just in front of the beach, near the steamboat cruises. For rainy days, there is also a indoor mini-golf course just in the front of the park.

Many options are available for sports-lovers. From the classic hiking, kayaking and golfing, you can also enjoy parasailing, horseback riding and skydiving.

History and culture
Fort William Henry
Built in 1755, Fort William Henry is located in the middle of Lake George village. The beaches are just in front, so it's a perfect morning activity before heading to the beach in the afternoon.
This fort was built in 1755 during the war between the French and British. Fort William Henry is opened from May to October and the price of admission is around 8$ for children and 16$ for adults. They have interesting special events throughout the year like real-life reenactments and a 18th century marketplace. Consult the official Fort William Henry special events page for more info.
Fort Ticonderoga
Build by the French in the 18th century, Fort Ticonderoga is located 40 miles north of Lake George village. While you have to drive for about an hour to get there, it is worth the trip! May I suggest that you stop there while getting back to Montreal. Click here for the directions to Fort Ticonderoga .
Fort Ticonderoga is a beautiful fort central to the United States history. It is beautifully located in the Adirondack which makes it a very interesting half-day trip. History, scenery, nature. The whole family will love it.
Haunted House Lake George
An American vacation classic! Bring the kids, show you're not easily afraid! Since it's located right in the village, why not stop by while strolling on the main street to show who's the most courageous?!
