Lake George Camping
The joy of relaxing by a fire! Few things relax me more than 2 or 3 days of camping. My mind goes blank and I think of nothing. I just enjoy.
From large campgrounds accommodating RVs to small family-owned camping, you're likely to find exactly what you want! Some Lake George campgrounds are closer to the village than others, but most are a 10 to 20 minutes away from the village by car. For a different camping experience, try Lake George Island Camping or camp right in the village at the Lake George battleground camping.

In Short...
Apart from the Lake George Battlefield Campground that is right in the middle, most campgrounds are located 10 to 20 minutes from Lake George village. Island camping is only accessible by boat. Most campgrounds are open from the middle of May 'till October. Weather-wise, the best time to camp would be in June, July and August.

With the best location in all of Lake George campgrounds, Lake George Battleground camping has a better location than most Lake George village hotels and motels. Only a few minutes from beaches and attractions, it's camping right in the middle of the village.
Reviews are generally good with mentions that campsites may be a little on the small side and, like most public campgrounds, they are very strict on quiets hours. Since it located right in the middle of town, it may not be the best choice for nature lovers that want nature and quietness. Depending on the site you are, you may be near the main road or near a hotel.

King Philips Campground is a big campground (more than 200 campsites!) located about 10 minutes from Lake George village, near Magic Forest and the outlets. They accommodate anything from tents to large RVs.
Wi-fi is available throughout the camping, restrooms and showers are newly renovated and they offer activities like ping-pong, badminton and also a pool. You'll also have access to a laundromat which is really enjoyable when you are on extended vacations. Reviews are generally pretty good, only downside is that you may hear the i87 in the background.

Lake George RV Park is one of the most renowned camping in Lake George. Accommodating everything from RVs to tents, there is also a good list of on-site activities and a shuttle to Lake George village.
Conveniently located 4 miles out of Lake George village, it has excellent reviews. You can choose Lake George RV Park with confidence for your vacations.
DCamp right in the middle of the lake! At Lake George Island camping, the campsites are - mostly - private, well-covered and only accessible by boat! Lake George Island Camping is in fact divided in three campgrounds: Glen Island, Long Island and Narrow Island, each with its own registration office. Note that those campsites are popular, so reserve early!
ELocated a few miles north of the village, Lake George Escape welcomes tents and RVs. It has hundreds of campsites and you can also rent a cabin for a reasonable price (starting around 45$)! Lake George Escape has a great list of activities: basketball court, tennis, ping-pong, mini-golf, pools, etc. There is also an access to the river where you can tube or kayak. With overall good reviews, it's a great choice for a family vacation!
FWhippoorwill Motel & Campsites is a mix of a motel and a small adjacent camping. It is located along route 9, but you still have the feeling of a camping since most sites are large and are surrounded by trees. They accommodate RVs as well as tents, offer access to a pool and most reviewers are saying the owners are friendly.
GLedgeView RV Park is a RV only camping that is mainly occupied by full-time campers. It is located 10 to 15 minutes from Lake George village, closer to outlets and the Six Flags Great Escape. Lots of trees, spacious sites, paved street.
This campground is well maintained, quiet and has good services (wi-fi in public places, cable, electricity, pool, game room, etc.). Generally, reviews are very good, but note that, on a few sites, you may hear route 149. Also, permanent residents will enforce the rules, so make sure you follow them!
HLocated about 2 miles north of Lake George village, Adirondack camping village has a great location and scenic views. Campsites are mostly surrounded by trees, which allows for more privacy. Even though it is located on a mountain, they did a good job of leveling the sites.
It has good reviews and clean amenities. The only bad side would be the steep hill to climb for RVs on some sites and the nearby route you may hear a little. All in all, a very good choice.
IMt Kenyon Campground is located 5 miles outside the village of Lake George. You can camp there either in tents or RVs. There are few reviews available, so it is hard to say if this camping is a good choice. The few available reviews are a mixed bag of good and bad. Please tell us what you think of this camping!
JStony Creek Campground is a small camping located a few miles outside Lake George. With a little over 30 campsites, you can either camp in a tent or with a trailer.
